JAMB SUSPENDS THE USE OF NIN FOR 2020 UTME / DE CANDIDATES
JAMB says the decision was taken due to difficulties being faced by candidates in the NIN registration.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has suspended the use of the National Identification Number(NIN) as prerequisite for the registration of the 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination UTME.
The Registrar of JAMB Professor Ishaq Oloyede who stated this while briefing newsmen in Abuja said the move was to provide more time for candidates to get their national identification number.
Prof. Oloyede said, the suspension was also to address the technical challenges experienced in some centres.
Meanwhile, the suspension of the use of NIN also affects Direct entry registration for this year 2020. The registrar of the board has made it known that the process will be made mandatory for the 2021 UTME/DE registrations.
