Senate would recall that the University was shut down on March 23. 2020 due to the ravaging COVlD-l9 pandemic. Senate would also recall that within the same period, the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had embarked on strike action. All these culminated in the suspension of academic activities for almost 10 months. Senate would further recall that the University had about four (4) weeks to conclude lectures before commencement of First Semester examinations before the shutdown.

Also, within this period, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) released the 2020 202l JAMB results for admission of candidates into various Universities. Consequcnt upon this, the University of Nigeria scheduled screening exercise to hold from January 18 26, 202l.

The strike action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been suspended and the University is now set to reopen for academic activities.

Following the above developments, we hereby present a proposed summary of events for the reopening and conclusion of 2019/2020 academic session for postgraduate, undergraduate and sandwich programmes.

Details of the proposed Revised Timetable of Events for the 2019/2020 will be prepared by the Senate Timetable Committee.

Senate is invited to consider the proposal for the reopening and conclusion of 20l9 2020 academic session, and take action as it deems necessary.
